# Chip

Display a category, status, or short detail as a compact inline label alongside text, icons, and lists.

We are building SnowUI components into interfaces people can use directly in AI conversations. Conversational UI is still in development; this page demonstrates website usage. Supported chat platforms and component versions will be announced after verification. Generating and using SnowUI interfaces inside AI conversations is completely free. It is not a project, uses no project or developer-seat quota, and requires no SnowUI registration, activation, or paid proof.

## Usage choices

Use Chip for compact content identification and composition. Declare selection, removal, or click behavior through the public API; a display-only Chip is not automatically a button or checkbox.

- The default variant includes a dot. The background variant hides it by default; showDot can override either choice.
- An as="leading" child replaces the dot, and as="trailing" adds trailing content. Pass size explicitly when size changes dynamically.
