TableHead changelog

v2.4.1 (2026-10-23)

  • Sort icons keep 4 CSS px from title content, replacing the earlier zero-gap design. The same sort button retains alignment, one-line truncation, and existing sort state.

  • 2026-10-07: Clarified the icon and component title slots. Fixed column alignment for block-level icon titles and sorting content while preserving an accessible name for icon-only headings.

  • 2026-10-07: With horizontal scrolling disabled, columns about to be hidden fade in sync with container width. Table defines the full responsive rule.

  • 2026-10-07: Standardized at least 8px at table outer edges and 8px between adjacent column content (4px internally on each side). Outer spacing is redistributed after a column collapses.

  • 2026-10-07: Raised minimum responsive cell padding on each side from 2px to 4px, leaving at least 8px between adjacent column content.

  • 2026-10-07: v2.4.0 added responsiveHide column protection. Persistent role headers remain visible; automatic layout reuses Table’s measured result.

  • 2026-10-07: v2.3.2 aligned the transparent regions for in-row and header Checkboxes to their actual right edges, with a fixed --size-5 (nominally 20px) soft transition to the right. It follows control size and responsive spacing instead of stretching with column width. Explicit start/end overrides remain available.

  • 2026-10-07: v2.3.1 fixed a lingering image caused by different exit timing for the overlay select-all Checkbox and first-column mask, while retaining fade-in and keyboard focus.

  • 2026-09-28: Adopted Indicator’s unified hit area and state visuals. The column resize handle reuses its default appearance and full-edge hit target.

  • 2026-09-21: Unified the usage guide, source property table, and Site / AI reading entry points. Documentation only; component behavior is unchanged.

  • 2026-09-01: v2.3.0 includes the header’s no-wrap min-content width in Table’s automatic total minimum width when column width is not explicitly fixed.

  • 2026-09-01: v2.2.1 followed Table’s new responsive curve, converging to 2px padding on each side in common narrow containers and setting minimum visual spacing between adjacent columns to 4px.

  • 2026-08-14: v2.2.0 made left and right padding for ordinary, selection, actions, and overlay role headers respond to Table container width from 2px to 12px.

  • 2026-08-06: v2.1.0 changed resizable to default to true for ordinary data columns. Declaring columnId enables dragging to resize; fixed columns can pass resizable={false}. Selection/actions role columns remain nonresizable.

  • 2026-08-03: v1.9.2 made the extra 1px on a selection Checkbox a fixed 0.0625rem special case instead of reusing a border Token.

  • 2026-08-03: v1.9.1 gave the header select-all Checkbox and data rows the same Token-calculated 17px Table composition size. Standalone Checkbox defaults are unchanged.

  • 2026-07-12: v2.0.1 adapted to Indicator line’s full-height hit strip and restored the header visual to 1×16 at the right edge.

  • 2026-07-01: v2.0.0 added label and registered sortable column metadata for DataTable / TableToolbar.

  • 2026-06-30: v1.9.0 fixed the overlay selection heading fade to about 14px → 26px, matching the first Table Demo table instead of varying with heading text or column width.

  • 2026-06-30: v1.8.0 integrated the Table Context column registration protocol so TableBody can generate Skeleton rows in actual header order on initial load.

  • 2026-06-30: v1.7.1 removed static outer corners from the actual first and last header cells to keep default divided header dividers straight at the ends. The floating overlay control block retains its corners.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.7.0 reused the shared progressive-blur.ts capability for overlay blur and removed the component’s old narrow-strip implementation.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.9 raised overlay width back to about 35px, concentrated strips within the first 65%, and lowered blur radius so the blur ends before the block width.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.8 halved default overlay width again to about 26px and compressed later strip positions to end the right-side transition earlier.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.7 returned to narrow segmented Progressive Blur with the previous effect. It removed the extra extended blur surface and restored one wide initial strip followed by narrow strips.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.6 restored a multilayer progressive backdrop using six full-width fading mask layers, keeping the blur while avoiding hard segment boundaries.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.5 decoupled overlay control width from blur surface width. The blur surface extends farther into content to blur adjacent header text.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.4 restored an invisible .1% compositing trigger surface for blur by default and adjusted the alpha-mask curve to restore backdrop-filter sampling.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.3 replaced multilayer strips with one full-width blur surface plus alpha mask for overlay blur, eliminating color-band edges visible when enlarged.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.2 gave the ends of TableHeader and visible overlay blocks the same corners as rows. Default overlay width and strip size were halved; strip tint now defaults to zero.

  • 2026-06-24: v1.6.1 made progressive blur on overlay role headers visible only on hover and condensed it to eight layers with a wide first segment and overlapping narrow strips.

  • 2026-06-23: v1.6.0 added the role-column roleLayout="overlay" layout. Selection/actions headers can sit against the left and right edges with reversed multilayer transparent blur-gradient masks.

  • 2026-06-23: v1.5.0 added the as="selection/actions" roles. Selection headers include a select-all Checkbox for currently rendered rows; action headers are hidden by default and allow a custom title.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.4.1 formally assigned ArrowsUp to ascending and ArrowsDown to descending based on numeric-direction conventions in MUI / Ant Design / HeroUI tables. It clarified that omitting defaultSort does not implicitly sort the first column ascending.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.4.0 added defaultSortActive. When enabled, the default direction shows active styling and an icon, and the interaction cycles default → reverse → unsorted → default. It reversed v1.3.1’s mandatory sortable rule and restored automatic detection of sorting ability.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.3.1 made sortable an explicit switch for sorting ability. Without it, a matching row field no longer automatically enables interaction. defaultSort still implies sorting ability.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.3.0 added defaultSort="ascending | descending" so TableHead declares both the default sort column and direction. Declaring it automatically enables column sorting.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.2.3 changed the sort-icon mapping for top-to-bottom list reading: ascending uses ArrowsDown and descending uses ArrowsUp.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.2.2 restricted the “default direction has no active visual” rule to the column targeted by defaultSort. Other columns again show active styling and an icon for both ascending and descending.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.2.1 made the default sort direction visually inactive with no icon. Only reverse sorting shows ArrowsUp / ArrowsDown. Text-to-icon spacing became zero.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.2.0 restored the active sorting icon, using built-in ArrowsUp / ArrowsDown for ascending / descending respectively. Sortable text and icon share the standard 40% → 100% hover rule. The type decision is explicit: compare raw values automatically and use sorter for derived columns.

  • 2026-06-22: v1.1.1 set the header column-width Indicator to 1px × 16px at rest, centered on the header’s horizontal midpoint.

  • 2026-06-20: v1.1.0 removed sorting arrows to the right of column titles while keeping click-to-sort and aria-sort.

  • 2026-06-19: v1.0.0 added sorting and Resizable integration.
